When we are able to turn our dreams from dragons to joy, we build a world that is no longer fettered by the dreams that once were.
We get to walk in space – a space that is our own, a space that is silent, a space that is as fruitful as we want it to be.
It is no surprise that artists are often unhappy people – we feel things in a way that others do not…the farther we reach in art, the farther we delve into what we see – what we hear, what we feel, what we embrace.
It is unfortunate that as we do so, we often notice the world is…
…less than happy.
However, I do not believe that this has to be the case. Nor do I believe the world is split into artists and non-artists. I do believe that people can become artists, even if their skill has been left undeveloped for a long time. They can build those bridges to the sky.
You were already in the sky.
Now you just need to learn…
to fly.
Yet I also believe that artists do not have to be sad. They can be profoundly joyful individuals. Perhaps by seeing the darkness, they can revel in the light. Perhaps by seeing the joy, they can tase the sadness. Yet it is not always this way, nor has it always been this way for me.
Over time, I grew, and healed, and built walls that were fluid around my creativity. Nothing sad can enter in now that does not profoundly heal me.
Now, pick up your brush.
So every pain is okay. And yet every pain beautifies my art.
I live in a world now where I see dreams turn to reality. Every day. And so can you. You can be walking here right next to me, if only you wish to!
The desire to create, to build, to make the world a happier place is the most meaningful moment in my day-to-day life. Everyday I see artists succeed where they once failed, writers create where they once were blocked, and singers create vocal pictures in a way that blows my mind.
Often starting from nothing, or worse…
from criticism!
YOU GOT THIS!
No matter what people have said to you, pick up your cap and start creating again! Start seeing through those artistic eyes you were gifted with. Build the resources inside of you to withstand the storm, and join alongside me in a world where dreams begin to be created once again.
Little by little, whittle by whittle, stroke by stroke, note by note, we all can build our creative freedom to become stronger than it ever has been before!
